Photography is one of many media I use as a visual artist. My carousel photography is inspired by my love of color, sensual decoration, and dynamic composition. The photographs include horses and other animals as well as close-ups of carousel decorations. My carousel photography includes both in situ photographs of the animals in their colorful surroundings and restless motion, as well as formal carousel animal "portraits" with plain or suggestive backgrounds. I have photographed some of the best carousels in the United States and try to honor this wonderful form of folk art.
